Andrea Aragone is an architect and researcher associated with the Green with Grey project, developed through collaboration between Latitude Platform, the University of Louvain and partner institutions. His work examines the extensive sealed surfaces of Flemish industrial platforms and their effects on soil permeability, water management and regional ecological connectivity.

Green with Grey treats industrial sites as strategic territories for a transition based on selective removal as well as construction. The project combines territorial analysis, design experimentation, stakeholder dialogue and policy reflection to explore how asphalt and concrete can be replaced or reorganised to retain rainwater, strengthen the regional water cycle and create ecological space. Aragone’s contribution situates desealing within wider questions of productive landscapes, land consumption and the relationship between top-down policy and bottom-up implementation. His research helps translate territorial-scale environmental challenges into concrete spatial actions and design scenarios.
