Elisabetta Rosa is an architect-urbanist and postdoctoral researcher at the University of Louvain. She holds a doctorate from the Polytechnic University of Turin and has developed research on urban margins, precarious housing, informality and the relationship between everyday practices and urban transformation.

Within the Urban Metabolism Lab, she contributes to the F.R.S.–FNRS aIST-nexus programme, investigating how information and knowledge structures influence the description and modelling of urban social-ecological systems. She also collaborates on research concerning the contribution of nature-based solutions to the metabolism of informal settlements in Ghana. This work combines conceptual framework development with household surveys, focus groups, field observation and socio-ecological data analysis in Accra and Kumasi. By linking questions of knowledge production, informality and ecological services, her research helps the Lab develop models that are more attentive to local practices, unequal access to urban resources and the forms of evidence required for inclusive planning.
