Larissa Bonifacio is an ecologist and data specialist who contributed to the CO-HABITAT project at the University of Louvain. She is now a Science Officer in the Data Centre of the Flanders Marine Institute, where she supports the management, accessibility and reuse of scientific data.
Larissa Bonifacio is an ecologist, data specialist and former research assistant in the Urban Metabolism Lab. In 2024, she contributed to CO-HABITAT, the Innoviris-funded research project exploring animal-inclusive design and non-human agency in the Brussels-Capital Region.
Her work supported the project’s ecological data, mapping and research-assistance activities, helping to organise evidence about biodiversity, habitats and urban spatial conditions for use in interdisciplinary analysis and design. She subsequently joined the Flanders Marine Institute as a Science Officer in its Data Centre division. In that role, she contributes to the stewardship and accessibility of scientific information, extending the data-management expertise developed through collaborative environmental research. Her trajectory reflects the Lab’s connection between ecological inquiry, spatial data and the long-term infrastructures required to make research knowledge reusable.
