Mounya Daoudi is a visiting postdoctoral researcher from the Polytechnic School of Architecture and Urbanism in Algiers. Her collaboration with the Urban Metabolism Lab examines the construction sector through the combined perspectives of urban metabolism and circular economy, with the aim of identifying resource-efficient and lower-impact strategies for Algiers.

Her wider research addresses urban health, vulnerability and planning frameworks. Recent work developed a spatial framework for assessing vulnerability to COVID-19 in Algiers, connecting demographic, urban and service-related indicators with the need for more responsive planning. Within the Lab, she extends this systems perspective to construction materials, waste and circular resource use. Her research links quantitative assessment with urban policy and seeks decision tools capable of supporting environmental transition in the specific institutional and spatial context of Algerian cities.
