Pramit Verma is a postdoctoral researcher in the Urban Metabolism Lab. He completed a PhD at Banaras Hindu University in 2021 and has developed an interdisciplinary research profile spanning urban ecology, household energy consumption, land-use and land-cover change, green-space accessibility, climate-risk reduction and sustainability assessment. He was recognised as a Green Talents awardee in 2022.

At the University of Louvain, his work investigates the metabolism of smaller and interconnected cities through relational and spatial frameworks. His projects examine regional sustainability clusters, explainable artificial intelligence for Belgian urban metabolic dynamics and the coupling of green and built infrastructure in relation to urban heat and carbon emissions. He has also studied socioeconomic inequalities in household energy use and the spatial association of electricity consumption. His work combines remote sensing, spatial statistics, stakeholder-sensitive analysis and scenario development, with the goal of translating urban ecological evidence into low-carbon strategies that remain socially inclusive.
