News overview
The C3S–WMO European State of the Climate 2025 report was released on 29 April 2026. Produced by the Copernicus Climate Change Service and the World Meteorological Organization, it is a major assessment of climate conditions across Europe. The report synthesises long-term indicators, exceptional events and their impacts through contributions from approximately one hundred scientists.
Daniela Perrotti served as Lead Author of the “Policy and Action” section. Her involvement connects the Urban Metabolism Lab’s expertise in cities, landscape and sustainability with a continent-wide climate assessment intended for researchers, policy makers and the wider public.
The publication illustrates the Lab’s contribution beyond individual urban case studies. It situates resource-sensitive planning and climate-responsive design within the wider evidence base required for European adaptation and mitigation.
