Publication overview
This chapter examines landscape structure and ecological connectivity across sixteen sub-catchments in the Flemish Region. It forms part of the Green with Grey research programme on desealing industrial sites and reconnecting productive territories with regional water and ecological systems.
The analysis compares spatial relationships among landscape patches, corridors, water systems and sealed industrial platforms. The sub-catchment perspective makes it possible to identify where selective transformation and desealing could contribute most effectively to ecological continuity.
The chapter connects spatial evidence with the planning objectives of No Net Land Take and climate adaptation. It contributes to the Lab’s research on green infrastructure by demonstrating how site-level interventions can be evaluated in relation to wider territorial systems.
